Method. Chained Jevons index of blended prices ((3 × input + output) ÷ 4, USD per 1M tokens) from Model Price Watch daily snapshots. Each step multiplies the previous value by the geometric mean of the price relatives between two consecutive snapshot dates, over the models with a known, non-zero blended price on both dates. A model's price holds between its snapshots, from its first to its last observed date; reconstructed backfill history is not used. The index is 100 on 2026-06-25, the first date with at least 20 such models. Basket: 146 models on the base date and 271 in the latest step, on 8 Oct 2026.
The latest 8 real price moves from both histories, USD per 1M tokens. Reconstructed backfill history and MPW data corrections are left out.
